Biblical Inspiration For Troubled Times

Biblical Inspiration... Spiritually Prepared for Crisis and Disasters!

You CAN know peace even while the world is in turmoil. God promises us a "Peace beyond all understanding", peace of mind in a world that doesn't make sense.

 There is reason to hope.
The Bible tells us that God will never leave us. He can make something beautiful out of ugly circumstances. He can bring good out of what others meant for evil.

He still offers hope, peace and words of inspiration to each of us today. God is in control, even in the middle of these troubled times we can be at peace knowing... God does not change... Ever!

Inspiration For Troubled Times - Jesus
The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knows them that trust in Him. (Nahum 1:7)

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7)

God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid."
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
(Heb 13:5,6,8)

Every one of us faces needs and trials in our lives. Sometimes they are beyond our own means or understanding. These are not the times to panic or to give up in defeat. These are the times to have faith, and trust the Lord will meet and supply our need from His unlimited storehouse, as only He can.

And my God will supply all your needs according to His Riches in Glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)

God gave us many verses of Biblical Inspiration that can comfort, encourage, and prepare us for troubled times.

Worry or Trust - Biblical Inspiration

Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God ; trust also in me (Jesus).
(John 14:1)

Worry or trust God. These are two choices that we have in EVERY situation. With the first words of the above verse we are given the choice not to worry, "do not let your hearts be troubled (worried), and then we are given a second choice to "trust in God also in Jesus".

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6:24)

The biblical inspiration here is... It doesn’t matter what the stock market is doing, somehow the birds survive. When war is threatening or happening around us, the flowers still bloom in season.

In the same way, no matter what the headlines bring or what happens in our homes, with God in control, we can live with our mind and heart at peace.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.
(John 14:27)

Faith in Times of Crisis and Fear - Biblical Inspiration

The Story of Noah gives us biblical inspiration, and a perfect example of preparing by faith, physically and spiritually, in times of crisis or fear.

"By faith Noah, being warned by God of things not yet seen, moved with fear, he prepared an ark for the saving of his house".
(Hebrews 11:7)

Noah's actions in "preparing an ark for the saving of his house", shows he was obedient to God's warning - which was the evidence of his FAITH that God would be with him in preparing for the crisis to come.

Another reason why the Story of Noah is important for us today... "For it is written" AS IT WAS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH, SO IT WILL BE AT THE COMING OF THE SON OF MAN. - It is very much like this today!

As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. (Matthew 24:37-39)

Prepare for Spiritual Survival - Biblical Inspiration

The disciples came to Jesus asking, "what will be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world"? (Matthew 24:3)

We were forewarned of disaster events increasing as the "end times" or "end of the world" draws near. When we prepare for these increasing events such as flooding, hurricanes, famines, pestilences, earthquakes or warfare, we know that these events are occurring for spiritual reasons. (Matthew - Chapter 24)

These disasters are a kind of countdown, allowed by God to set the stage for the final moments of time. “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh” (Luke 21:28).

Everything that is, and is about to happen, he told us would happen. Safety, Peace and Complete Preparedness, requires putting yourself in His Hands and trusting in Him daily.

"God is in complete power and control and in God alone
is our peace and safety."

Biblical Inspiration Summary -

We do need adequate physical preparedness to provide for our physical lives - But without the spiritual preparation of believing in Jesus Christ...
We Cannot Gain Eternal and Everlasting Life.
(John 3:16)

God has not given us the spirit of fear,
but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

(2 Timothy 1:7)
In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone,
LORD, make me dwell in safety.

(Psalms 4:8)
