Lactose Free Chocolate Cake

by Cherrie Sorenson

Lactose Free Chocolate Cake Recipe -

A favorite desert recipe my mother used to make when I was growing up was a dairy free or lactose free chocolate cake. I was allergic to milk, wheat and eggs, it was very difficult to find items which did not contain these three ingredients.

Whether or not you or someone you know is lactose intolerant, give this recipe a try. You can use what you have in your home including your food storage ingredients to make this delicious cake.

Dairy Free Crazy Cake

2 c sugar
3 c flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 c cocoa
2 tsp baking soda
2 Tbsp vinegar
2/3 c vegetable oil
2 c cold water

In a mixer blend all the ingredients well. Pour into a greased 9 x 12 pan, baking at 350 for 40 minutes or until done. If you do not have a baking dish you can use a cookie sheet. Grease the cookie sheet and pour the cake mix to about half way, it will rise quite a bit. Bake at 350 and check for doneness after 15 minutes. Cut into bars once it has cooled, makes a fun dessert for the kids lunch.

You can top this delicious cake with frosting of your choosing, eat it plain or my favorite way is to dust with powdered sugar.

Many people who have sampled this lactose free chocolate cake recipe found it to be very delicious, they were surprised to learn it was dairy free!
